Exclamation Radiator issues........ help?

Ok.... last week, my radiator started to leak, so I decided to buy a new one and install it this weekend.... I spent the better part of the day yesterday trying to get the friggin trans lines out and finally made a tool that worked!!

I cleaned everything and changed the oil yesterday and thought I would get up this morning and simply drop the radiator in my clean engine compartment and be done in an hour or so...............

Everything was going great until I came to the "quick connect" fittings.... they slide in up to the flared part and wont go any further..... I've pushed, lubricated with trans fluid, said a couple of choice curse words and still nothing!!

I've searched on here and all over the internet, but still cant find anything on them.... I'm about to lose my mind here....

Does anyone know how these go back in???

There's a special tool you must use to remove/install the fittings. It should be available from Ford or any good parts store.

I have the tool....

***UPDATE!!***

The "1800Radiator" radiator had the wrong fittings.... they were too small! and, the fitting in the old radiator were too long...

So... I had to cut down the old fitting and install them in the new radiator.. Seems to be A LOT of work to do a simple radiator replacement - thank God I was at home and not on a trip someplace where I would have had to take it to a mechanic - it would have cost me a bundle!!

Bottom line... it works and there are no leaks!

so, note to all that have to replace the radiator - make sure the fittings are the same as the one you removed - it will save you a lot of time and frustration!
