Just bought a 2008 F150XLT that does not have heated mirrors. Has anyone ever converted their truck over to heated mirrors?

If so what is involved? How much did it cost?

I am also very interested in this. Upgraded to heated mirrors but wondering what is involved with hooking it up. Is all the wiring there and you just need the switch?

 

If this like my 07 FX4...then the wiring is there (had just the power mirrors stock). I up-graded to the power, heated and signals. You will need a new HVAC dash switch assy/ with heat. also will need a complete new fuse box assy as the stock one will not be wired for the heated mirrors (no fuse connection to harness). It all comes down as to how much you want heated mirrors as this will not be an inexpensive mod. That is if you want it to look stock.

 

I think I found your old post or somebody elses after I posted before. Sounds like a lil over 200 bucks. If you find a cheap switch. Might have to do some junkyard hunting.

 

What about just the signals? I have the standard power mirrrors but would like to get the heated / signal mirrors, but I don't really care about them being heated... Will the signals work just plug and play?

 

On my 2007 XLT the signals worked plug-and-play -- that is, the wiring on the truck itself was correct and powered. The new aftermarket mirrors themselves seemed to have some connections on the wrong plug pins (did not match the official specs) but by moving those pins to the correct plug points all was well.

 

I got the ones off ebay. They look like the 2009 mirrors. They came with instructions on the different years on where to land the wires in the connector. They left the wires out of the connector. Worked very well.
