When you just drop the pan and change the filter on the transmission. How many quarts to refill the pan for a 2004 5.4 4x4? Also how many quarts for the rear axle?

 

My 2005 took a little less than 5 quarts. Don't freak out, like I did , if you find a little yellow plug looking thing in the pan. Just throw it out.

 

Rear diff capacity will be in your owners manual, as will the total capacity of the trannie. However, since you are only dropping the pan, you will be nowhere near that.

PS, If you have a limited slip, do not forget the friction modifier.
