Red Third Brake Light?

I have done some looking around. Basically what I want is a red third brake light. My truck is red, and the white/clear third brake light just doesn't go with the rest of the the truck, let alone the tail lights.

All I have been able to find is an eBay seller with them, but sort of afraid of the quality. I have thought about pulling apart and painting, but with the lenses on the brake light I'm not sure it would really make a difference. Any possibility of shooting some sort of red tint? I don't know, anyone that has an idea or can link me to one would be a great help!

Thanks!

your best bet would probably be to find someone to spray the outside with a light coat of red paint and then clear it.

It might diminish the brightness of your cargo lights.

Shoot them red, and install bed lights? Probably result in better bed illumination anyways.

There was a thread where there was talking of paint the tail lights all red, I'd imagine it'd be the same procedure. My friend has done it using red metallic spray paint and clear on various VW tail lights, I guess done similarly to tinting them with Nite Shades. I myself have not done it, though, so can't say for sure.

Lemme find the thread...

Found it: https://www.f150online.com/forums/ap...aillights.html

As a side note, I wonder if you spray it all red, if maybe you could wire the cab lights to serve as 3rd brake lights. Granted, it might look kinnda weird since they'd be a different bulb, therefore different light pattern.
