Who the hell told you that? No. It's a bumper. Has absolutely nothing to do with the engine or any of its components.

Not really. You will lose the same amount of power as you would from throwing 200 pounds of bricks in the back...because that is pretty much what your doing. You are trading a light weight bumper for one that weighs much more.

I bet you never let anyone ride with you. God forbid all of the lost power from having a passenger in the truck.

What I was getting at is the extra weight is hardly noticable for a vehicle that can easily pull 4,000 pounds

They do add weight, especially with a 100 lb winch mounted on them!
