Lift/Leveling an 2wd 07? How high in front?

Hey everyone, trying to get a little feedback on something I am wanting to do with my truck. Right now I have 2inch drop shackles in the rear, I am now thinking of taking them off and lifting the front. Should I do the typical 2.5 or go for 3 inches in the front? I am really wanting to do the 3 inch in front and add 1 inch block in rear, to have it sitting about like an FX4 leveled out. Which route seems the best and the safest? Wanting to go with the RoughCountry kit 2.5 front with 1 rear block/ubolts/ rear shocks.. like $220 shipped. Ebay has Fat Bob's Garage brand 3inch Aluminum spacer and block for $189.. Im still shuffling what to do I want it higher and close to level.. But do remeber hearing 3 inches was pushing it up front? thanks

Just finishing my '08 2wd Reg. Cab today. I went with 1 1/2" AS in the front and OEM 1 5/8" blocks in the back to be close to stock 4WD height. This works out to be 1/2" higher in the front than a stock 4WD.
A few things I considered when I decided this combo is I am keeping close to stock on the tire size and not switching the wheels. I also have a cap on the bed, and with a 2" up front and hauling I don't want to be nose high. 3" would get you the 4WD height with a 2" leveling kit (factory 4WD is only appx. +1" higher than 2WD, but will appear even higher with taller tires). The higher your leveling kit the more extreme on your trucks front suspension angles.

add in the war and tear of the parts because of the angles.

IMO, take the truck and put a 1,5 or a 2.0 leveling kit on it and be done, not only are you going to wear parts out faster in the front with a 2.5 or a 3.0, you are gonna be way nose high if you ever put a load in the bed.

i personally am going to try to find a 2.0" kit for my 06 4X2.

Finished it early this morning. Got the blocks in the back and finished the drivers side front (I guess I'm taking my time). As others have stated numerous times doing the 2nd side is much quicker, think it took 30 minutes. All and all I'm real happy with the outcome, it's still got some rake and the angles with the 1.5 are not bad. I debated a long time on the 1.5" vs. the 2.0" and have no reservations about the decision. I will try and get some pics up soon.

where did you say you got the 1.5 at? I was wanting a 2.0 that would make me dead even ground to fender front and back, might got with the 1.5 though.

Direct from AutoSpring - bought the powder coated version. Didn't see the 1.5" on Ebay.

Thanks for all the responses.. I guessing I might go with the 2.5 front spacer, and try and find some OEM stock rear blocks with Ubolts, reckon I should go to the local junk yard and try and find some off of an 4x4/FX4 F150 or is there a place online to get them for cheap? Everywhere I see has 1"-1.5" blocks for like $100 buck or plus.. thats ridiculous to me.

go with the 2.5 inch spacer. its not too bad on the angles.
i have a 2wd and had the leveling kit before the lift and it was a tad higher than the back but not obscenely tall.
good luck man, also i have pics of my truck on my profile page

Well, had it aligned today and put on about 50 miles since the level.
The 1 1/2" leveling kit brought it up close to 2" total (1 7/8"). I noticed the tires were getting scrubbed on the shoulder and turning the front wheels was easier than without the lift but now with the alignment everything is back to normal so even with the 1 1/2" the toe-in was affected more than I thought it would be. Overall very happy with the stance now, and am about 1" higher in the back with the OEM blocks.
