Come and Harass me!
Seems like everyone else is doing it. Anyway, I always like to try and give a small business my money first but I did get a quote from a dealer for a plug change. $285+85 per broken plug + tax. Well I talked to a shop down the street from where I work and I expressed my concerns about the change but they felt confident they could do it. Well this was Tuesday, dropped my truck off on Wednesday and just got it back this afternoon (Friday) because 3 plugs broke. The damage.....

Yeah I know, but I was out of town and had someone pick it up. They were closed when I got back in today sOOOoooo I will be there first thing next week. I figure they were about $350 off of being fair. Charged 10 hours of labor($580) and $120 for plugs and $70 for boots) and a few other hear and there things. I am currently POd beyond belief and really trying to be calm and enjoy a slow weekend.

I would like to say that we use them alot because they are right down the street from where I work. This is one reason I trusted them, because why screw the people putting food on your table.
WE WILL pull all the work from them if this is not adjusted.
FYI, I didn't sit on these, my truck almost has 75k and I did it early to avoid such a situation.

Ouch! Personally, given the reputation of these trucks, I wouldn't let anyone but the dealer mess with the plugs. There's just no replacement for the experience they get doing these changes on a day-in-day-out basis.....

the dealer i work for chargers one flat fee if none break or all 8 im sure someother dealers are doing this as well have to do some research

I called every Ford dealer I trusted in the Gastonia/Charlotte. (That only eliminates one). $285 + was the BEST price quoted so I'm not horribly upset(Yeah right, I know) cause this price still beat the worst quote from a dealer.
