Warmed the motor and was prepared for the worst. We started gong and literally took only 40 minutes to change all plugs. Not a squeak or break from any of them. The back ones were a pain to get to but came out fine. Those were the ones I did not want to break.

We were prepared to soak them and all but they were all turing real easy and came right out we did not bother. Then I nickel anti seized the new ones and popped them in.

The ones that came out were well worn but not carboned up at all. Dry and clean. Not sure why. Maybe because I had it Custom tuned since day one and it ran cleaner? Not sure but it took more time getting the coils off than the plugs.
I'm assuming you have the 5.4. What gas to you usually run? What brand?

Yes 5.4. Its funny 99% of the time since I moved here 7 years ago I run Vons gas as in Vons grocery store here in Cali.. It is the closest gas station and best pricing. I was always concerned but the truck has always ran great on it. So not sure what gas they use but seems to be good.

Interesting. I have a theory that the cleaner in the gas contributes to the success of plug removal. You may have just invalidated my theory.

Sorry guys I haven't been on here in a while. To answer the questions, I used a long pair of needle nosed pliers to get the two that left the whole piece of porceline in. And yes that is the Aero Kroil at work. I agree there are no stupid questions. If there were I never would have received the great advice I did from here.

Welcome to the club brother!!!!Just completed mine last weekend with ZERO breakage!!Yes they do screech like hell coming out,and i used that noise to gauge they were still intact as i turned.I knew if they got quite to stop and reverse, then back out to duplicate that screeching again.I did not have to remove my PCM though, since mine had a body lift.It was one hell of a job though, and at least we can say we have been there, done that!!!!No more spark plug worries for us!!!!!

Did mine last weekend. Didnt break any. But I had the tool on-hand (just incase). Also, I think the most important thing is to use the Motorcraft Carb Cleaner. I was surprised how well it works. Its not the same as using penetrating oil. Works perfect for removing these plugs. And I think I only paid about 4-5 bucks for the can (and you'll only use a couple teaspoons is all).
