No power steering!

Anybody have or had a problem with their power steering? I have an 06 Lariat and the steering has been getting harder over the last few days. Fluid level's fine and no whine. The truck hasn't been off road and I haven't hit anything in the road. It almost feels like it's binding with no self centering after a turn. If it's the pump, how big of a job is that? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Now that it's paid off I guess it's time for things to go..

When my pump went out on my ranger, we used a stethescope and you could tell fluid was not moving freely through it. It's not too bad of a job and the scope is cheap so get one and listen.

I haven't had to swap one on the 150 but I'd have to look to be sure.

Notice it has a probe tip instead of the flat head like physicians use.

Check your belt tensioner. Often they start to fail and the belt slips feeling like you have no power steering or lack of.

I'll give it a listen today. I'd love to find out it's just the tensioner. Possibly why the a/c speed speeds up when I step on the gas. Thanks for the replies!
