Air Bags

Is any one running air bags? Ive recently been towing and having sagging issues. Ive researched and found two brands, not sure if any one has any experience with either one. And would Air bags improve ride quality?

any one happen to be running either one or know which one is better of the two?

im running the air lift ones with the onboard compressor and in-cab gauge so i can adjust them on the go. i use em to tow our 7k boat and they hold up well. only problems ive had are some weak spots on the air lines that have blown out...i replaced em with the extra length i had left over from the install and have been good ever since.

im really happy with them and have had them since 06. i usually run about 10 psi in them when im not towing and then around 70 psi when i am towing. the ride isnt affected that much with them in there either.

What a trip you live in the same city as me, could we meet up so i could check out your setup? Did it improve the ride at all?

I'm running the Firestone's. Pretty easy install. I don't use the on-board compressor. I air them up to level a trailer or when I have my quad in the bed.

I have the Firestone Ride-Rites under my truck, they are one of the best things that I have done! I am in the process of installing a on-board air system, the Airlift Quickshot, so I can control the bags from the cab and also use the system to inflate tires, inflatable toys for the kids when camping, ect.

Here are a couple pics of the difference the bags can make, both pics have the same load roughly 2500lbs (1000lbs of patio blocks in the bed and 1500 lbs of tongue weight from the trailer) The first is with no air in the bags, the second is with 65 psi.

Yeah this is on my to-do list for the summer. I don't care for being nose high as soon as that heavy hunk of metal jeep touches the trailer.

yeah for sure....that explains the PM hahaha

it made the ride slightly stiffer in the rear but nothing that was really noticeable. but it dramatically improved the ride with the boat attached...the truck doesnt bounce around at all in the rear with the bags
