2005 Front Bumper on my '07 XLT

I'd like to go with a 2004-2005 Fog hole front bumper on my 2007.

How easy is this swap?

If you can score one with brackets and plates already it will be an easy swap.

Like the guys said

All new brackets and bumper stops. You will also need to get the upper bumper or either cut or remove the brackets for the upper bumper so the 04-05 lip will fit. (I just cut till they fit) It can be done though just check out my pics

Thanks guys. I was sorta hoping the bolt/bracket pattern was the same on all '04-08s.

I know, wishful thinking

Why not an 07 bumper, less work.

Well, for one good reason, the '04-'05 fog lights are hands down better than the round fogs on the newer trucks. I owned a 2005 and loved those lights. I loved them even more with a set of Silverstars in them. The round ones on my 2010 are beyond absolutely useless - if that's possible.

The round hole fog bumper is much better than the no-fog hole. But, I think the '04-'05 with the rectangular fogs is more in keeping with the style of the headlights and the truck itself.

Yeah the 2004/05 bumper foglights blow the round fogs out of the water. Me and my dad both have 6000k 55w Retro-solutions HID's in our fogs. Mine are rectangular, his are round. I can drive with only my foglights without a problem. His look cool, but only put light a few feet in front of the vehicle.

you will have to switch out the plastic valance between the grille and the bumper because the plastic thing on the 04-05 and 06-08 trucks mount in different locations on the bumper. The 05 bumper mounts up at the top of the plastic thing and the 07 mounts near the bottom of the plastic thing. I found that out the hard way when installing my craigslisted 05 bumper on my 06 truck
