The reason I swapped wheels was due to backspacing. My old wheels had too much for the lift, so to make things work temporarily, I added 1" wheel spacers to the front.

I didn't want to run the spacers, so I had to find new wheels with the proper backspacing/offset. I didn't want the tires to stick way out, so I needed more than 4.5" BS, which is pretty common.

The new wheels are growing on me, but they make the tires look smaller.

I'm thinking of the Trail Grapplers once my BFGs wear down.

I find it strange that you had problems with your rims fitting. Hell lots of people use the stock rims with the Rancho lift and 12.5" wide mud tires.

It wasn't the tires so much as the rims. I wasn't running stock rims, my rims had 6 3/8" back spacing. I told the shop that did the install to use my old rims if possible. The rears fit no problem, but the fronts had too much BS and made contact with the control arms (from what I'm told), so they used the 1" spacers up front.

The new wheels have 5"+ BS, i forget the exact number... I may swap out wheels again when I get the trail grapplers. That won't happen for another 20k+ miles though.

Yes, the trail grapplers are very nice. They handle well at 70-85 mph, they bite in wet weather with quick acceleration, and they're good on corners. I'm happy with them.

Loving the truck NCSU. I've always looked to your truck for inspiration for mine.

More importantly that which wheel is better (I agree the old ones did look better though), but what about those light guards you got going on for your tail lights? Are they just a westin model or what?

I'm not sure who made them. There were an impulse buy when another member here listed them in the classified.

Sorry if I missed this but what lift did you go with? Looks really good! Did you keep your level on the front with the lift?

I was going to say "where the hell is the crossover", but then I noticed it waaaaaaaay down in front of the mufflers.

Got the Rancho 4" kit and removed the autospring leveling kit. Ended up selling it to another member here. The Rancho says its a 4" lift for the front and 2 or 2 and a half inches for the reach, so it sits pretty level.

Yeah, I'm not sure why the shop put it way back there. If I ever get around to getting hi-flow cats and/or different mufflers I'll have them put the xpipe up towards the engine.
