Why would using a leveling spacer have anything to do with the placement of your grille gaurd?

You need to do some research. The spacer does not go between the strut and the body. Not even sure how that would be possible. Sounds like you are confusing a leveling spacer with a body lift. It goes between the strut tower and the coil spring.

It will not affect the grill or the bumper. Its stretching the suspension, not a body lift.

If you look in your front wheel well, the spacer goes between the spring and the big steel "cup" that it rests in. It pushes the whole truck up not just the body.
