aux power point problem..not as simple as i thought!!

i have a 04 f150 with the 12v aux power point below and to the right of the radio. it wont charge my tomtom or turn on the light on the charger. weird thing is i change the fuse that had blown with a new one (20a) and now its is getting power according to the test light. figure it has to be a ground problem but not sure. Also there is three prongs on the back of power point but only two wires running too it could this be a problem? any suggestions? maybe pictures of where the wires are going into back of yalls power points?

OUr vehicles are DC systems (two wires). It could be a bad ground. It may depend on yoru TomTom. try it in another vehcile to make sure it is working. The one I had a few years ago had a bad battery. Turns out those batteried frieed easily because the cord would allow surges. Many people I read about had the same problem. Check the Fuse in the TomTom cord?

If the ground and the power wire touch, that could cause the fuse to blow.

probe the power point itself. Ground around the outside and power in the center rear. If you dont have that check your wire placements on the back. One of those could be a blank or something.
