Taking Apart Door Handles (How To)

For all those who want to remove the their door handle from the bucket here are a few steps/tips.

You will need a set of pliers and a flat head screwdriver

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics

Here is what the back of the Handle looks like

1) You need to remove the silver pin on the right side of the back of the handle. Take the pliers and place one end on the bottom of the pin and the other end on on top of the pin. Once you give it a good squeeze and move the pliers upward you will see the pin move up along with the circular plastic piece on top. (the pin has some grooves on top).

2) once the pin is moveable. take your pilers again and place one end at the bottom of the pin and this time the other end on the plastic circular piece, not touching the top end of the pin. and clamp those pilers down.
(in this pic the bottom plier should be on the bottom of the pin)

3) Once the pin pops out of the grooves, you can pull it out.

4) Next, you have to take out the latch. Using a flathead screw driver, wedge it in between the outer plastic piece (thin piece of plastic) and the cylinder the spring is on. You have to use some force , but be careful not to bend or break that outer plastic piece.

5) once you pop it out of place, you just have to jimmy it abit to free it.
and heres what it looks like removed.

6) Remove the handle from the bucket.

All the handles are the same with the exception of the tailgate, but it is the same principle.

Yes there all the same , with the exception of the tail gate handle.

Tail gate - you just need to remove the large silver pin, and the spring is on the pin, so theres less to take apart.

IDNC76 did you get my pdf file? I was going to cut each one of the pics from the pages and post here also since it shows removing the door panels from start to finish also.

Great job!
