What are these ball bearings?

Ok, so I changed my upper and lower ball joints in my 2005 f150 4x4 lariet with 51,300 miles. All I will say is the job aint easy! Well I had it planned to take pictures of my process and create a "how to" for the forum, but once you get started on ball joints....you don't feel like messing around taking pictures! Well during my replacment, to change the lower ball joint, you must use a press to do so and the only way to get the press on the bj is to remove the axle from the hub. Well the only thing I can think these ball bearings belong to would be the axle? There are about 3/16' and are the typically small ball bearings. They were covered in blue grease which makes me think they were from the axle/hub. I used the 4x4 to test my work out and the 4x4 worked. What would they belong to?? I still have them, but wont be able to do anything with them until this weekend. Would it be fine to still drive without the 4x4? Thanks alot. -John

There should be a bearing in the hub, did you check that out before assembling it all?
