Front Bumper Replacement -- 06 XL

I have a 2006 XL and want to replace the stock gray bumpers with chrome. I've found a chrome bumper off of a 2006 XLT, but had a few quick concerns.

To do so, will I need any additional mounting parts or anything? Or will the chrome bumper fit in place of the stock bumper? Anyone familiar or have done this with their 06?

Nope, you should not need anything else. Providing both are either from early 2006 or both are from late 2006. Reason being, they changed the front and rear bumpers about half way though that year. They are slightly different in size and use different mounting brackets. I.E. Early generations had rectangular fogs and later ones has circular.

If both bumpers look to be the EXACT same shape, you're fine.

How would I be able to tell if they are from early or late 2006? Both bumpers are without fog lights? And by different size, is that height, length, or ?

Thanks!

04-05 front bumpers are different from 06-08 front bumpers. That's all you need to know. Stay within where your truck lies and you'll be fine.
