2 years old, holding up well.. (pics)
Thanks! As coincidence would have it, I almost had a truck exactly like yours. My parents were buying me a truck for a surprise graduation/birthday present and were filling out the paperwork for a white truck with black bumpers when the owner of the dealership (a friend of a friend of my mom) walked in and said "I bet that boy would like some chrome bumpers. write them up for the red one but give them the same price"
so thats how i ended up with my red truck lol. but my favorite color after red and maroon on a truck is definitely white.
also, what did you do to paint your driveshaft? I need to do that in the worst way. did you use bedliner or just paint? how did you prep it? so many questions
lol

lolWhen I painted the axle I simply used a can of Rustoleum flat black. If you look at my pics up top, the lower ones are flat black. I think they look better as in more of a factory look. If you search this part of the forum, you'll see my post from last year, titled; "decided to paint the axle."
I taped off all of the stainless steal bolts and the air pressure release valve (or whatever it's called) along with the sticker wrapped around it. I wanted it to look as good as possible. All in all, it took 15 minutes and was the easiest thing ever.. Almost as easy as adding rear blocks.
I also just painted the hitch as well. Super easy. Not that ir had a lot of rust, but there was some inside from where the tongue scrapped off paint. My frame shows absolutely no signs of rust anywhere so I haven't bothered to freshen that up (yet).
Haha it's been driven. Been though one Vermont winter with tons of salt. Driven from Vermont to Florida twice and I drive it everyday when I'm not on tour. My father has it about 6 to 8 months out of the year now since I'm gone with the band a lot.
Thanks guys!
Maybe it's my ocd, but it always has to be super clean. Yes, I power wash the underside every time it's driven in the rain or even gets wet for that matter haha.
I figure, the better shape it's in, the more it's worth when I re sell. The entire thing is taken care of the same way. i drive it like an an old lady, oil changed every 3k, tires rotated every 3k, air filter and fuel filter done at 20k.
I just can't stand if there's so much as a finger print anywhere on it. haha

The girl I was dating got on my nerves and I got an opportunity to join a band in NY so I left.
