Quick question.
When I bought my truck with 20K miles the first oil change was 5-20 Full syn Mobil 1.
Then later I swapped to 5-20 Full syn Motorcraft.
Now I am using syn blend 5-20, have i hurt anything?
Also, I am going to be about 150 Miles over 3,000 Miles before I can change my oil, is that going to hurt anything? I was supposed to change it at 42,000 but I am going to be around 42,150 miles.
how long is syn-blend good for?
Thanks.
Yes, I am a huge worry wort over my truck.

The type of oil you use and the frequency you decide to change it seems to prompt many personal opinions. You must use 5w-20 as recommended in the owner’s manual but after that, natural oil, blends or full synthetic is a personal choice. I would be more concerned with the frequency of the oil change.
The type of driving should also be taken into consideration. Driving only long distances should allow you to extend the time between changes where only driving short distances should shorten that time. Not allowing your oil to heat up and bake off the moisture that will collect as your engine cools is something that does not occur with short distance driving. This is the same type of moisture you see leaving your exhaust after the car cools off and you first start it.
I am and will always follow the 3K or 3 month rule I have followed since young even though todays oil products are much better than they were some 20-30 years ago. Again, that is my personal choice and I believe it is cheap insurance.
Also, there seems to be a lot of discussion on the type of oil filter to use on your Ford truck and it is the consensus that a Motorcraft filter is the one to use. That does not make it the best but the one most forum members like.
Enjoy your truck!!
