Aftermarket filter.

I read through some threads but still didn't see the question answered. I need to replace the stock paper type filter. I am planning on an aftermarket filter of some sort that is washable/reuseable. Will I have any issues with this on an 05 5.4 or is it just when you replace the whole intake system?

Hello & Welcome!

The one to use: http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eaa.aspx

Or - stay stock.

Either way, do the Gotts Mod - refer to the Tech Articles Section fer info.

Aw heck- here's yer Freebie Search " ==> https://www.f150online.com/forums/ar...04-2008-a.html

Approx $10 - save yer money, & keep yer lower IAT's...

Do not buy an aftermarket intake. Buy a custom-tuned programmer instead.

I have the K&N drop in. To answer your question, an aftermarket filter does not cause a lean condition. That is only the full intake that sometimes causes a lean condition and requires custom programming.

Okay...yeah I was just going to replace the filter and do the full CAI when I get the tune done. Before I get to the tune, I want to get the headers and high flow cats on too. So, it might be a while on the CAI/tune. But, I need the filter now. Thanks for the help.
