2004 Random Vibration and Grinding
Hey guys. New to the forum, but have found a lot of great info so far.
I'll give a little background first as to the problems I've been having in case it help. I got my truck (2004 f150 Lariat SCAB) a little under a year ago. The condition of the truck leads me to believe it was well taken care of by the previous owner. There's no maintenance records so I don't know what fluids/parts have or haven't been changed. Since I've owner it I've done the usual routine maintenance as far as oil changes and filters go.
My problem began about 9 months ago with the famed 'ice in a blender' or 'dragging shopping cart' under the truck noise coming from the transfer case area. Thanks to you guys I replaced the IWE Solenoid, problem solved. About a month ago I got a real loud metal and metal grinding noise up in my front wheel area. Diagnosed it as failed IWE actuators. Ordered them up, replaced them no problem. That took care of that problem. The truck ran perfect for about 3 weeks when I started to get a dull humming noise accompanied by a subtle, but noticable vibration through the floor boards. I suspected maybe the transfer case again. The noise happens very speradically at no given speed, RPM, or in a certain gear. Last night I got more of a metalic noise coming from the transfer and vibrations through the floor boards.
Any help or opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

I also had that problem a week after I bought the truck. Dealer relplaced both rear parking break assemblies for free. That is one heck of a ride when things bind up back there so I'm pretty sure that's not it. Thanks for the input.
I've talked to some people and they said I might have a bad U-joint in my front drive shaft? Has this happened to anybody or does this sound about right?
