Leveling Kit

I am looking for a leveling kit for my 2007 FX4. I can't decide between the 2, 2.5 or 3 inch. Any advice/suggestions?

The search button will set you free. Plus, when asking questions, please include as many details about your truck as possible ie, reg cab, stx, 4.6L etc.

I just measured distand between tire and wheel well. The front sits exactly 2 inches lower than rear. When I order my kit I want it perfectly level, so I'm going to order a 2 inch kit.

I would go with the 3 inch, because it's gonna settle a little bit. Even the dealership told me that when I had mine installed.

2" or 2.5". IMO the 3" is to high and will give you that nose up look. Go with 2" and nothing on the back or 2.3" and rear blocks or AAL on the back, if you want to be level.

I have a 2007 FX4 and went with the 2". A 2.5" would have been too much.

It depends what you use your truck for. I have a load of over 500 lbs a couple of times a week. Looking at my truck with an empty box one would think a 2 or 3 inch front lift would make it look good. When I load up the box then it looks stupid with the nose way up in the air. The solution is a leveling kit AND a set of Firestone airbags for the rear. If your box is empty most of the time then a leveling kit makes sense. Just my 2.12 cents worth

For an '07 I would get a 2". Earlier years the 2.5" works better, but the '07-'08 seem to look better with a 2" and not leave the tail lower.

The springs will not settle when you level it.

I was talking to a mechanic at work and he said that a leveling kit will make the spring rub on the control arm. Does anyone have that problem? What is a good kit that will work correctly?

I agree. 3 is a bit high imo. I have 2.5 and seems like the front suspension is "maxed" out. Like the geometry shouldn't be like that when it's just sitting.

I have a 2.5" autospring on my 07 FX4. It sits dead level. Airbags are going to be installed so when I haul I can sit at the same height in the rear. The front control arm doesn't rub on anything. just like yetti said, it will not settle if you are just putting a coil spacer in. I'll try to dig up my pictures when I get a chance. It was the exact look I was going for. IMO 3" would be too much without an add-a-leaf or airbags, unless thats what you're going for.

1.5" maybe 2" but no bigger. Stay away from the 2.5 and 3". Just my 2 cents.

I would go with 2", to me it seems to look just right! Also feel 2.5 and especially 3 might be bit much for the suspension...
