Hey does anybody know of a good solution for when you have a leveling kit installed in your truck, and you haul a quad or a sled and the rear of the truck really sinks down and it looks weird? I recently bought a pro-comp 2.5 leveling kit, and I heard you could get an add-a-leaf for the rear, but i don't know of a company thats makes one... Any info would be great, because I'm sick of my truck looking like i have broken leafs every time I move something slightly heavy...

 

AAL or rear helper bags will work if you like the height of the rear now as the AAL will add height.

and search summit or 4 wheel parts or talk to the local shop theyll have them

 

If you wanna spend the money get airbags but otherwise I would go with an add a leaf, there are a bunch of companys that make them. Try autospring, pro comp or sky jacker. I went with the autospring and it worked out great especially when I tow my two sleds in my 16 foot trailer and have one in the bed.

 

i have the air lift set up on my truck. i like it because i can air it up when i hook up the boat or other heavy loads, then let the air out to around 10psi when not loaded...keeps the factory ride and i control it from the cab.

 

I have and love my Firestone Ride-Rite airbags. I was looking for a solution to the same problem you have after I leveled my truck, but then I started towing heavy also so now I need the bags. I now have a Airlift Quickshot compressor system sitting in my garage waiting to be installed so I can control the bags from the cab. Here are a couple pics with about 65psi in the bags and without air, the load has about 1500lbs of tongue weight and I also have 1000lbs of patio blocks in the bed of the truck.

1.5 rear add a leaf, or 1.5" rear block

 

If you like the empty stance of your truck, and you have a 4x4, I'm going to say the cheapest option is the add a leaf and removing the factory 4x4 block. You'll stay about the same height unloaded, but have the helper springs to boost the rear when carrying extra weight.
I think the best option is the bags, but they are a gonna run you a few dollars. Jegs has the firestones for $230 (there is a cheaper set) but no compressor is included.

I had the same problem towing my motorcycle trailer. Got my new Monroe rear shocks installed for $150 at Sears. The ride is so much better now compared to my worn out factory shocks.

It doesnt.

What it does do is make it more noticeable. That 1.5 inch cushion of rear squat is gone. When you squat the back an inch or so with a load (like its designed to do), it makes the truck nose high instantly because it has no where else to go.

 

Will nothing to help the issue at hand.

 

Who said it did? The rear end sags just as much as it did before, but where the rear sag made the rear sit level with the front before, it will now sit lower with a leveling kit. Same amount of sag, just looks like more.

... won't the add-a-leaf make the truck ride rougher? You are just stiffening the rear suspension (right?)

 

Thanks for all the info guys, i think i will go with ether the auto-spring one, or the Monroe Shocks, I don't think i'm ready to shell out for bags... lol
