my idea on add a leaf.

so im trying to do either a 2.5 or a 2 inch level in the front of my truck, but id like to add an add a leaf too and have it sit level. does an aal add 2 inches?

my truck is 2 inches higher in the rear exactly and i want it to sit level.

sooo can i remove the stock block thats 1 5/8s -2 inches high and then do an add a leaf? id be perfectly fine leaving the rear alone height wise.

if i removed the stock block and added a leaf, id probably just do that first, then measure again and decide on what level i wanted to do.

what are the best add a leafs out there?

I put the leveling kit and add a leaf on my truck and i tell u what. it really helps when your hauling a 4 wheeler or trailer. With the leveling kit it raise your truck to be level with the rear then the add a leaf puts the rear just a tad higher but if your hauling stuff its worth it. rides better too.

I have a AAL and 2 inch bilstein 5100's on my 2004 FX4. To make it sit level I had to take out the stock 1 3/4 spacer and put in a 1 inch spacer. You wouldn't think that 3/4 inch would make that much of a difference, but the truck looked terrible wit the front end sitting higher than the back.

I ordered it online from Fat Bob's Garage. You need to order if for a 2wd truck so you get the correct length U bolts.

so if an add a leaf gets you 2 inches, cant you just remove the stock block? that would put you a smidgen above stock ride height wouldnt it? thats where i want to be really so i can use a 2 inch spacer. or i can use a 1 inch block, aal then do a 2.5.

I thought the stock block was 2"? Hence getting a 3" block gave you 1" of rear lift?

If that is the case you are only talking about 3/8 of an inch difference which would not be able to be noticed IMO. I have an AAL and it raised me about 1 3/4 but I have a fiberglass bed cover weighing it down some. Also unless you need the extra payload capacity the block will be 10 times easier to install.

I have said this before in other threads, but the aal will stiffen your ride, and I personally did not like it when we did it to my buddies truck. Go with lift shackle with your 2.5" leveling kit, it wont change the ride at all and you will end up with the rear 0.5" higher than the fron

Level kit only

Level kit plus rear shackles

I know, i know, I need to detail it
