Some updates to my truck

This weekend I decided I would paint my handles, but only got around to the tailgate handle so here's a picture of that and my new black Ford Patriot Decal.

I also did some LEDs, which I'm pretty sure no one else has changed, in the keypad. I was going to do a write-up but I didn't think there would be enough interest in how to do it. So here are some pictures of that, I'll get better ones later tonight and with the handles, after those are finished.

I took them completely apart and then sanded them smooth and painted them from there.

looks real good man, like the led change too. I think a lot of people would have liked if ya did a full write-up on the led's.. but handle's look real close to match.

Just from lookin at your pictures, you should do your mirror's too

I'm actually already working on the mirrors, I decided to do the whole thing not just the top part, I think it looks better that way on black.

And here is one more picture of the LEDs at night.

It would be better for someone with two sets of handles, only because if you have to take it off the set on the truck it will become extremely easy to take. But if your interested go ahead and PM me for more details.

I would be interested in knowing what LED's you used. I would like to change mine out for red leds.

I used some PLCC-2 leds I had laying around. Next time I do it I'm going use some from digikey. That way they match better. I'll probably be doing it again this summer since someone tried breaking into to my truck and screwed up the handle completely. I just need to find the time.
