FIX: 45 - 60 mph shake

On mobile so cant pull up my old thread. I found a fix for the 45 - 60 mph shake that so many of us have. REMOVE SPARE TIRE AND REAR BUMPER. Im replacing my rear bumper and i pulled the spare out from the bottom and the shake is gone. unfortunately this is a temp fix. just thought I'd share.

60% of the time, it works every time.

Seriously though, how in the world could that be a cause?

lol, sounds like sex panther by Odeon.

it's most likely a wheel out of balance or an alignment issue, and just a coincidence that this temp fix worked. maybe the weight of the spare & bumper was adding to the problem ... but the problem is probably still there.

For sure it's only a temporary fix. I can't ride around forever without those parts. I have a new set of Monroe shocks to put in the rear to see if that fixes it. I'm going to have them installed when I decide on the wheels & tires I want.

99.9% of all percentages are made up. Maybe even this one. who knows. ;D

But isn't it illegal to not have a rear bumper system in place? or is it just the front bumper you need. Even if the front bumper is a 2x4.. would it be the same for the back?

More than likely he still has the vibration, just that by changing the weight on the frame, he changed the resonance point that it would be felt in the cab.

Technically speaking, yes. You are probably 99% right.

Looks like you took some slightly immature heat for what you shared, but I for one appreciate it! Have never heard of that before but it may lead to a solution that does not necessarily involve the removal of those parts, but will give someone a lead for a fix for a problem that even Ford has never seemed to be able to completely cure.
