Check engine light on.

Check engine light came on out of nowhere, And there hasn't been much change in the truck to note why it would be coming on.

Twice now, over the week the light has been on, it has acted like it wanted to stall while idling, but it doesn't.

Checked it out with the edge, it's pulling two codes, one saying something about heat resistance, other about truck running lean.(will get more accurate code discriptions next time I'm in the truck)

I always have my Edge set in the second mode(tow), and I switched it back to stock to see if it would rememdy the problem, and it did for about 20 minutes, then the light returned.

Any idea's?

07 4.6L Screw, approx 80,000kms.

That sounds like a vacuum leak. Not sure about the "heat resistor" code, but the lean code indicates the manifold is sucking in more air than it should. That code should tell you which side it is too, so you could start there. Get someone to listen to the engine while you rev a little bit. Sometimes you can hear the "whistle" from the leak if it is big enough. Good Luck.

Ok, went to check for the whistle, and with my hand on the accelorator and head out the door I can't hear anything...

But I checked the codes again, Edge is now showing 3,

p1000 - on-board diagnostic(OBD) system rediness test not complete
p0053 - (HO211) heater resistance out of limits
p2195 - o2 sensor signal stuck lean - bank 1 sensor 1

Sounds like maybe I need to replace my o2('s)?? What do you guys think?

I've read the p1000 shows a battery disconnect. My Edge showed the p1000 after going back to stock as well.

P1000 just means that one or more emissions monitors haven't ran and passed yet.

I'd start with replacing the 1-1 HEGO based on the resistance out of limit code. It will be the upstream on the passenger's side.

Well I bought a replacement o2. Nice to see the 'upstream' one looks nice tucked up in there. Do they expect you can replace these without dismantling the exaust?
