Bedrug issues

I've had my bedrug for maybe 3 years or so now and I'm thinking it's starting to breakdown. When ever I rub my arm against the fibers I get what feels like fiberglass cuts and it itches pretty darn good. Just like fiberglass does.

I haven't done anything unusual with my bedrug, worst thing I hauled was a load of tree branches and some old mulch last fall.

Anyone else getting this issue with your bedrugs?

I've had my bedrug in the Lightning since we bought it in 2004. It is showing some wear from things sliding around in the back, but nothing like you are experiencing. Of course it has also been under a tonneau the entire time.

There's no wear on the rug. Just itches the **** out of me when I rub against it. I'm going to pressure wash it today to see if that helps.

Dump the rug and get a rubber mat ?

I LINE-X'ed my bed, then installed a rubber mat.

Perfect combo IMHO. You get the protection of the Line-X, plus the non-slip benefit of the rubber mat.

Still waiting on them to contact me. I sent them a email the day I started the thread. Figure if they don't get back with me by Wednesday I'll call them.

I like the bedrug since we go to the drive in movies all the time.

We use a queen size air mattress for the drive in. Fits perfect.

I got a bedrug because I hated my rubber mat. I also don't like line-x or the like. Personal preference.

BTW does yall's tailgate piece have the molded foam on the back of it, or is it just a carpet cover? I think im gonna make a foam insert for mine, i was just curious about the 04-08 trucks if they changed the design.

No issues like that with mine, but mine's also under a lid. The only thing I've found to be an issue with the rug is a toilet wax ring, nearly impossible to get it out.

Have you tried hosing it down with a bit of soap?

We just put blankets on the line-x.

I had my BedRug for 5 years exposed to all four seasons. I've hauled engines and diffs and just about everything else and it still looks like new.
Best buy ever for my truck.

Mine has the same molded foam backing like the rest of rug.

No problems with causing itching, either.
