Replacing bumper, any advice?
I bought my truck used and the bumper and foglights were all busted up. Done some price checks and I went with aftermarkets. They all fit perfectly and you cant tell at all that its aftermarket.
That was such a pain in the ***. Once I got the bumper off I realized that some of the frame was bent by the tow hooks and it wouldn't let my steel bumper supports lay flush against the new bumper. After much pulling and pushing with a pipe wrench I got it to lay even. Now my plastic valence is looking bowed out and uneven but maybe it just needs to set. I could care less either way at least the chrome bumper looks good.

I R/R'd mine by myself in a couple of hours, give or take. Had to take half the brackets off and replace the damaged ones and install them on the new bumper. No big deal.
Sounds like you had a lot of underlying damage where I didn't. I just had to shim in certain places with some washers.

Putting on the new bumper is a bit challenging, especially buy yourself. I would highly suggest having help nearby. Done mine by myself. Not all that bad, but having help would of cut the time in half.
Once I got it off I saw where the original owner must of hit a hole and dropped it hard enough to do some frame work. I spent more time with the pipe wrench than anything. Figure if I was gonna do it I need to do it right.
