Rear axle bearing ???
Rear axle bearing ???
I ordered some rear axle shaft bearings and got some Timkens part # TF01561R. Now when I took it out of the package, it didn't look like the one that came out. So turns out the one I have is a bearing and seal kit, not a seperate bearing and seal. The part # I have says it fits my truck....... newer 04 FX4.....9.75 w/ 3.73 LS rear. Question is, can I use this instead of the seperate bearing and seal? Or do I need the same setup as factory. Oh, my names Brian by the way. From Ma/NH area, and this is my 1st F150. Thanks for any help guys.

Brian- I think you're gonna need the same thing that came out. I see you have an '04. Are you sure they didn't give you parts for an old body (called Heritage). For most of the parts, us guys that have new body '04's need to tell the parts guys that it's an '05 since they didn't make a Heritage in '05 and they won't get confused in the parts book. You would think that after 7 years of this that the parts guys would always ask enough questions to make sure which '04 you're talking about.
I ordered the bearings for an 05 just to avoid that mix up. Timken advertises it as a bearing AND seal kit, all in one. Wrong. Going to Ford to get the correct bearings and seals. Guess I won't be saving any $$.Thanks for the reply.
