I need your help.
2004 new style 4x4 xlt electronic control

I was starting to get a squeak from the front. At first I thought it was the brake warning that the pads were getting low. Check that and it wasn't. I decided to put it 4x4 hi and it seemed to go away. So I stopped and put it in 4x4 lo, which it didn't want to go in to. I drove 100 feet and it kicked in, but after another 100 feet I heard a clunk, which I didn't like.

Now when trying to get it out of 4x4 lo it does not want too.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Put it on a very steep hill or incline and turn the switch to 2hi then go up and down back and forth from drive to reverse and it will usually unlock itself....I had this happen to me and that was what I found to work...GL

 

Come to a complete stop and put the shifter in nuteral and your foot on the brake then switch it into 4hi. Now pull away slowly.
