The body of my truck is something i would hand to the pros to deal with. it has been done. I have also seen it rhino lined, covered with vinyl, and other options. take your time and search this out before jumping into anything.

i think i remember people talking about it they said that you either get that spot repainted and get the whole truck recleared or get the whole truck repainted, or else you can feel with your fingers where the paint "overlaps" each other

yea the last part is true. but on the 04-08 model there is a indent right where the two colors meet. so the overlap will not be noticeable if you just have that spot painted.

Finally something I can be the pro at, lol you can back tape on that line (take 2" wide tape let it hang down an inch over then fold it back up so the paint can creep under a little leaving a softer edge) mask the truck first then do the back tape so it can be removed right after clear coat so the edge melts a little. then just unmask the rest when its dry. They also sell a blending solvent that you can dust on that wet edge after you pull the tape to smooth further, I,ll do it on my truck (mock) later and post some pics for ya.

No I said earlier I would so here goes,
#1 mask truck at faint line above indent
#2 lay 2"tape so it covers edge of first mask (black line)
#3push tape to upper INSIDE edge of indent bodyline
#4slide another layer of 2" tape under first sticky side out, lol takes practice
slowley pull all out till first section of tape is just in between edges of upper bodyline and boom, spray, pull 2" tape....
