Is a new differential worth it??

Hi all,

Well... I recently had the dreaded rear differential issue and ended up having to replace the bearings yadda yadda....

Anyway, now I have a chatter if I am stopped and go to accelerate to make a turn I have to believe its the limited slip clutch packs. I've searched countless threads here about these issues and started to wonder if I should just replace the rear differential.

I'm thinking about an Eaton Posi or similar (Ford 8.8, 3.55, 31 spline). Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated!!

Limited slip clutch packs cause a shudder in the REAR.I would use full synthetic
and put in a bottle friction modifier and get it from the ford dealer hope things work out for you its cheaper than a new diff.

Thanks jetech,

Yup... my shutter is in the rear. I have the synthetic fluid recommended by ford, but I do not have the friction modifier added. I'll have to pick up a bottle and see if there is an improvement

Thanks again, I'll grab the modifier this week and post the results.
