Bed Cover

Where is the best place to purchase the hard bed cover that's painted the color of your truck from. I think its made of fiberglass.

I purchased mine from a local accessory shop here in Houston. I got a SnugTop, but since it hasn't arrived yet, I can't give you any "real world" input on it just yet. I can tell you that after looking at just about every model that's available, SnugTop seemed to provide the nicest low-profile appearance of all the ones I was able to take a look at in person.....

I went with the LT sport cover as mentioned by another member here. I'm glad I did, it sits 1/4 inch ontop of rails. I like it because you can open the tailgate with out lifting the cover.
Snugtop was my 2nd choice if your set on fiberglass.

If you don't mind me asking how much was it? Do you have any pics of it on your truck. It looks as if its not leveled from the pics on their site. looks as if its a little high in one spot and lower in another but this could just be the pics.

A company called A.R.E. makes the best looking solid tonneau in my opinion, but they are pricey. There's a truck accessory shop in Tulsa called Truck-N-Stuff that sells them I believe.

Everything for me is more because I get screwed with shipping. I think the cost was $1000-1200 INC paint then around $400.00 to ship to me. I think it cost around $1600 for everything inc tax. The cheapest I could get a snugtop locally was $1800-$2000.

Did you put carpet on the underside of the bed cover? Do you have any close ups? It looks really good, I just want to make sure its worth the money vs let's say A.R.E but so far I like this one the most

when I say close ups I'm talking about the 1/4 inch gap you were talking about and the quality of the paint. being that its aluminum does it ever get flimsy?

The carpet was a special they had for free. I put a bedrug in the box to match everything up. What kind of pictures do you want I'll do it right away.

first off let me say that I appreciate your help. you've been very helpful not only with the bed cover but also with the LED kit and I appreciate it. I would like to see the gap b/t the bed and the bed cover from the side as well as shot of the paint on the cover (up close). Can the cover be easily dented?

My understanding is the aluminum is way thicker then the factory hood, there is no movement at all even when being carried. My guess would be it could dent but not from hail unless golf ball sized. The way the cover is designed is 2 pieces of aluminum, edges are together and I think there is a 1/2 inch space in the middle with spray foam in it. It's not just a piece of flat aluminum. there is a 1/2 inch gap not a 1/4 inch like a thought. the edge came with a black rubber edging to put on but I never put it on. the cover is kind of dirty so not sure how the paint would turn out. The paint is smoother on the cover then the rest of the body but the cover is white so might hide some stuff. I'll do pictures later tonight.

Not a problem thanks for the kind words. If you have any questions call the number for the cover. I think his name his Scott he is a very nice guy. I moved the truck out of the sun before I took these pictures so the color is a bit off, and the battery for the camera died.

I like the looks of the aluminum cover its just that I feel it should cover the bed rail. You have such a nice looking white truck and then you see those faded out bed rail covers. I know if they covered the rails then it wouldnt work like you needed it to but it takes away from the truck. I still like my Rage lid made by jason. I'll try and get some pics of it this week when I am off.

Thanks I get your point but my rails are fairly new "Arizona beige color" LOL. I like how you can see the rails, but if your rails are faded you will see them instead of covering them. I'm not sure how it will look in 2-5 years when the outsides will fade.
