Check your rear pinion seals

I noticed mine leaking a couple of weeks ago and changed it this past Friday. I also found wheel seal leaking which is gettting changed this weekend. My father-in-law and buddy have an 05 and 06 and guess what both of their pinion seals are leaking. My buddies 06 is actually leaking pretty bad. Is this a common problem? You better check yours out.

I noticed mine leaking also a little over a week ago. Dealer fixed it under warranty (truck only has 27000mi). Now the leak is gone, but on a road trip this past weekend I noticed that when I let off the gas at any speed over 80 there is a noticeable vibration or shake until the truck slows to about 78 mph. Any clue on what the cause may be? Not trying to hijack the thread it just seemed relevant since it became an issue after having the rear pinon seal replaced. I can start my own thread if necessary.

Pretty common and an easy fix. Heck, I even had a leaky seal on a new truck, drove it home from the dealer lot about 2 miles, parked it in the driveway and noticed it the next day.

I would take it back if it is under warranty still. They didn't put something back to the way it was.

Mine is wet too. Has been for a while. Causes no drip or problems that I am aware of.
