help wanted on level kit choices
Looks Great!
Just wanted to drop you a line to tell you it looks great. Mine has since settled down some more after driving it awhile. I measured today, and the back is 9 1/2" and the front is 9 1/4" inches from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender well.
After looking at it for a couple of days, I think I'm going to take PawPaw's recommendation and go with some 285's on the stock wheels.
Cya.

k so i have a question for you guys, when i bought my truck 3 years ago the only thing that was done to it was a leveling kit, since i have put a 3" body life on it... what i was wondering is there any way to tell what size of leveling kit the first owner of the veh put on? i am just curious to see what the total lift on my truck equals thanks....
I talked with my tire guy at firestone, he tried to screw me on the lifetime alignment package I purchased when I bought my first set of tires from him. He tried to tell me I had to take my truck to a specialty shop, they couldn't align it, since it was no longer at stock specs. Then his lead tech just happened to walk by at the time, overheard the conversation, and saved my a$$, telling the manager it was not a problem and he could do align it back to stock specs...just a warning to all that may try the same...I was only slightly toed(towed)??? in, I don't know the propper spelling, I'm assuming its like your feet, toed in, and bam done, no extra cost to me.
I would say install time was about 1.5 hours on one side, and .5 hours on the other, it was all about learning what to do exactly and in what order and specifically how to do it. Air tools helped alot, good luck on your install, I haven't checked any gas mileage yet, no difference in handling at all...however, its been foggy here lately, and I have noticed my headlights are up quite a bit and I will probably have to adjust them a bit...
i did it with basic tools. all i needed was a big adjustable wrench and a 1 1/2" wrench as a breaker bar. took me two hours on first side and thirty minutes on the next. i was taking my time though. local shop wanted $350 for install and alignment. lol
Getting mine in tmrw. Will post pics if I can.
Just wondering. How good/bad will it look if I leave on the stock wheels?
I plan on upgrading later, but the cost differential of the level ($70) versus wheels and tires (>$500) allows me to do the leveling first.

Amen brotha, but think of it this way... Yes you are spending more money, but you wont be wasting your hard earned cash on crap products because you can ask for advice first!
i have stock 17" and they look fine, remember your rear wheel well wont change any in appearance, you can always buy bigger tires rather than new rims, just wait for your tires to wear down and then go big....good luck...or even look for some cheap used rims if you want to go bigger, all i want is to get up to 18" chrome oem rims but cant find them anywhere
Got mine installed without much trouble, but have a question.
Were you guys able to tighten the upper ball joint nut to specs? Mine is just spinning and I dont see a place to grab onto to tighten it properly.
I am prying down on the control arm with a crowbar, but it still spins

Just get a couple buddys, some beer, a grill, and some meat and go to town one afternoon or night. Thats what we did on mine, took our time, did things right, and relaxed as we did it. Took maybe 3 hours, with grilling and drinking time haha
