Truck died while Driving. No Start
Truck died while Driving. No Start
I was driving the truck about 40mph and it just shut off. No drama, just as if I turned off the key. Coasted into a nearby parking lot, put it in park, no start. Put it in neutral, no start. The starter won't engage. The throttle body with the key in "on" position clicks. After removing my intake tube, and when the key gets turned on I can see the throttle body move for a second, then shut and start clicking.
The starter relay and fuse are ok. When key is turned to start the relay clicks.
I put on a spare throttle body I had to see if it was the culprit, same scenario.
I just got the truck towed home and jacked up. The starter is seeing 12v's and when I jump the starter solenoid the starter works.
I have yet to see if there is voltage on the starter solenoid wire when key on, no one to help me currently. I know there is a TSB on replacing that wire, but even if that was the case, that does not explain the truck shutting off.
There is no fuel pressure at the rail. Another symptom. I'm going to run and get a Chilton or what not with a wiring diagram to help diagnose.
Any suggestions would be appreciated also.

Well after it's all said and done I learned something...
Fuse #34 is not for the fuel injetor module like my owners manual says, it's for the fuel pump. It's also the PCM fuse....
It was still the factory 20amp fuse, adding a boost a pump it was supposed to be a 30amp. The shop I had install(because I was out of town and needed my truck to be correct) didn't install the 30amp fuse. The 20amp fuse just finally gave up, taking power away from the pcm(no start, crazy throttle body, etc) and take power away from the fuel pump(no fuel pressure).

X2. Its under the spare. Mine looks corroded. I'm going to deal with it once the Spring gets here...
