Fuel Pump Driver Module backordered until MAY (over 2 months)

my fuel pump driver module died while making a left turn on a snow/ice covered road this last saturday. thankfully i was not hit, but i did have the intersection blocked for a half hour.

if that was not bad enough, the part is out of stock and backordered untill sometime in MAY!!!!!

i have called several places, and the dealer has called several other dealers trying to get one transfered in but no one is willing to give them up. (they want to keep them on hand for when one of their customers is down)

my truck has ben WONDERFUL to me for 4 years (original owner) but i now may be without it for weeks or months...

i plan to call them tomorrow. i also issued a formal complaint with ford. their call center said an "investigator" should call me tomorrow.

the tech at the dealer said a 250/expedition unit would work but i am cautious to try that without an ok from ford (one would think the part# differs for a reason)

thanks!!!!

i will see what ford says when they contact me. i think its time that they step up an recall/cover the cost of this failure.

having a truck that has a know problem to instantly stall in not a good thing...

You can get them

Use the link on Ebay to purchase one from him.
He met me in Hartland MI. within 4 hours of contacting him.
He is a straight up guy.
oefordparts is his id on ebay.
It is part#5L8Z.9D370.A
You get new in the box, [Genuine FomoCo parts] with new studs to lift the module up from the crossmember to alleviate this problem.

The part #'s ,
4L3Z.9D370.A or 5L8Z.9D370.A Or 3F2A-9D370-CB
All correspond to the same 04-08 F-150's with this problem.
Got the part @ 2pm today, my truck is running now.
After 2 weeks.

He has a few left.
Faster than Ford parts, and there is no aftermarket replacement, that's not for a performance application.

Troyer Performance keeps a fair amount of them in stock, and Downtown Ford in Canton Ohio does also. Downtowns number is 330-456-2781, Troyers can be found on their website.

4L3Z.9D370.A and 5L8Z.9D370.A ARE the SAME part i think one comes with a bracket and one doesn't im sure you or the dealer can find one

just a question if i may. i dropped my spare yesterday to look at mine i pulled it off and it looks ok there was alot of dirt and grime but the module looks ok. my q is should i put it back and use the washer trick and leave it like that. i tend to agree that wrapping a baggy around it is not the best idea.
