[Help] Vehicle service history
Hello members.
I am new to the forums. I recently purchased a used '04 4x4 screw.(My first 4x4 truck!!!) I'm getting pretty crappy mileage and want to change the plugs, but after doing some research, found out about the '04 spark plug problems. I don't want to head into this project without the broken plug puller, and I would have to order that, but I don't know if the truck has been taken in for the TSB. I called my local Ford dealership and they can only provide service records for their shop.
Does anyone have any idea how I can find out if my plugs have been changed or not. Also how can I find out what has been serviced on the truck.
All ideas and help appreciated.

I got the oasis report. The service manager was very friendly and glad to help. Unfortunately, there were absolutely no instances of the truck taken in to Ford for service. I'm going to have to wait to get ahold of that plug removal tool and have it ready for all the plugs that break. Especially on my 100k+ rig.
I ran a carfax and saw that in 07, a service contract was issued. I'm contacting the issuing company to see if I can get service records from them.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

There was no recall for "THE" plug issue, Ford wouldn't man up to their crappy design, unlike Toyota that will warranty stuff that is 15 years old when they figure out it was their fault.
Follow the TSB to the letter. Read all the Ford F150 forums and all the posts about extracting the plugs. Start with the back ones first, that way they will still be warm and might come out without breaking IF YOU FOLLOW THE TSB TO THE LETTER.
PS I had plugs break at 13K miles on mine so mileage means nothing
I've got good news and bad news. The good news is that I went down to a local auto parts store and purchased the plugs, the antiseize, and a Lisle 65600.
At about 9:30 this evening, I pulled out the first plug. I followed the TSB and the plug came right out. I examined the plug and it actually looked to be in great shape. I also noticed it was the new Motorcraft plug! Seems like the plugs had been changed, even thought there was no service record. I changed them all as a general precaution and was done by 11:30. All the plugs that came out looked pretty darn good and clean. I will return the Lisle unused and get my $100.00 back!!!
Now, unless those plugs were not doing their job efficiently, that means the poor mileage is coming from somewhere else, or the truck just gets **** poor mpg...about 13 mpg mixed.
It sounds like its missing, but I'm not getting any codes. Maybe I need to get into the o2 sensors next.
