2004 F150 FX4 wont start!!!!

when I try to start I get a bunch of clicks. The truck will not start. I did jump it and it started. I let it run for a few minutes, then turned it off and disconnected the jumper cables. I went to start it and I got the clicks again. I then went and jumped it the 2nd time and let it run a little bit longer. After a few minutes of it running on the cables; I turned the truck off and then cranked it back up- it started. However, the radio never powered on and the interior lights were dim. The truck felt like it was winding down the longer it ran with out the jumper cables. I drove it around the neighborhood and when I got back in the drive way; i turned the truck off- cranked it back up (started), turned it off, then it would not crank again. I again got the clicking noises and the interior and exterior lights clicked normal and dimmer in a rhythm pattern with the clicking noise. Do I need a new battery? Alternator? Starter? I need help! I am a chick and the husband is playing ARMY man!!!

Did I mention that I drove my truck yesterday and it was fine... it is a little cold out... not sure IF that has anything to do with it.

sounds like you have a dead cell or a few dead cells in your battery. take it to the autoparts store and have it tested. but it sounds like you need a new battery.....in order to fully charge a battery you need to drive on it for a while to allow the alternator to recharge it. if you start it, turn it off and try to start again, its just pulling more and more power from the battery and thats why youre not able to start a 2nd or 3rd time in a row.

awesome! when the sun comes out I will be pulling out the battery and taking it to get a new one! I like hearing that it is just a battery issue (cheaper).... crossing my fingers! Hopes this works!!!

Start with the battery and go from there.
