Emblem Overlay Question

Hey guys, I just ordered a new set of Emblem Overlays for all my blue ovals (grill, tailgate, and steering wheel).

I was wondering what to do about my grill emblem though, because it is suffering from the same ailment this one is:

Should I attempt to remove the laminate before applying the new overlays?

BTW, this is my truck:

and I ordered the plain jane "Ford" overlays but with Arizona Beige Metallic background and Fir Green Metallic script for the grill and tailgate and the opposite for the steering wheel.

If that bubbling on the grill emblem prevents me from cleanly installing the overlay I'll def hit you up. Sub and amp still kickin'?

ah yea still sounds great! yea just let me know, alot of people on here sand them down smooth before putting the overlays on so it shouldn't hurt

Yeah I would think you could take a razor blade and fix it to get it down smooth, then install your overlay on it. Don't hold me to it though.

From what I have read and seen, the 05's have the text that peels on the chrome fender/tailgate badges, 06's have the bubbling ford emblem. Surprised yours is like that since you have an 05. I know my fender badges are starting to peel on the driver side.

Yeah after some research that seems to be the consensus. 04-05, fender and tailgate badges. 06+, ovals.

My grill emblem is horrible, but every other badge on the truck is absolutely flawless. Weird.

Is odd, well I would say maybe yours was made late of 05 right before 06. But I don't think that would change anything, and my truck was an 05 off the assembly line at the end of November of 05 so I don't know.
