I just bought an 05. I understand there have been some recalls for various parts on this truck. Is there a time limit on bringing the truck in for recall service? Can only the original owner bring it in? Are there any mileage restrictions? Finally, how can I tell if the truck has had any of the recall service done? Thanks in advance.

 

I recently bought a used truck and it had the recall service listed on its carfax report. The only recall I saw was the brake booster hose having to be clamped on because it was slipping.

 

Brake booster hose and 2005 model year 5.4 3v fuel injector extended coverage are the only ones I know of.

Stealth is correct abut the recalls, although with the fuel injector, I got a letter from Ford and that might be required to show because I think states that in the letter. To answer you other questions about knowing if anything had been done usually any dealership can tell you by the vin # that also goes for any restrictions aswell, you might want to call more than one because sometimes they lie. But it's good to have another truck guy, good luck and congrats on getting the truck.
