So we have been getting drilled with rain the last couple weeks. I had my floor boards get wet back in the fall and I picked up the carpet and let it hang dry and fanned it on one of our warmer days. Well I went out to the truck today and I smelled that horrible smell. Well I picked up my weathertech floor mat and sure enough it is soaking wet underneath! WTF ?

Its not coming down from the windshield that was my first thought but the weathertechs are always dry on top. So I think its coming from the door sills or the fire wall.

What do y'all think ? Anybody else have any of these problems. It is only on the drivers floormat.

 

I've had a couple of issues with my passenger side.. dead center under the weathertech mat... Nothing around the edges just in the middle... Really weird... and Mine is an '07

 

what did you do ? Did you resolve it ? I have heard of guys siliconing the tabs in the door sills

 

My 06 has the same problem on the passenger side. Haven't had a chance to look at it yet

 

any solutions ?

 

Try a search on this topic and you will get quite a few people experiencing the same problem, including me. This past summer i noticed my passenger side carpet soaked after some good rains. A lot of people have narrowed it down to the third brake light seal, others are getting water from the air conditioner drain hose. I went to walmart and bought some weather stripping to redo the seal around the 3rd brake light, but will have to wait until spring to see if it works.

that worked for me last year

 

have you ever run any wires through the firewall to the battery? Amp power for system? Alarm? anything? My grommet in the firewall (directly behind battery on passenger side firewall) was unseated after amp install, water drained down windshield, through cowling, and directly into the grommet hole, filling my passenger floorboard with water.

just an idea, solved my problem.

 

I did the weather stripping around the 3rd brake light back when I got the Recon one in October. I will try the firewall next

My 06 gets wet on the driver side floorboard. I just park the truck facing down hill in the drive way when it rains. Problem solved.
