Not sure why you'd want to go smaller then the stockers but, the size of the wheel is determined by the clearance needed to get around the caliper. On the NBS it's 17".

17 inch is as small as you go and still have front brakes.

Remove the calipers and rotors and you can get smaller wheels on it
