Mpg???

Okay so i was watching 4X4 on spike tv and they brought in a V8 1990s dodge and said it gets 8 MPG and they want to get it around 20 MPG, they started of by taking off the mechanical fan and replacing it with electrical fans! If I did this how much improvement would I see? Im thinking of doing a BBK throttle body,Throttle body spacer, LTs and exhaust, Air intake, and edge programmer to suck as much power and MPGs as I can out of my 5.4! A buddy of mine with similar upgades gets around 24 mpg on his f150, with the switch to electrical fans plus the items listed, what can I expect to get in MPGs and horsepower?

If your worried about MPG you should just unhook all accomedies. Just have a shell with an engine. No heat/ac no pw/pl. Or get the foriegn tata nano that they are bringing to the states. I think the cost is going to be 7500 brand new but it's basically like a tin can with a lawn electric shaver for an engine ;D

But on a serious note those mods will make your truck run leaner but it will all matter on how you step on it. And I know with myself the more HP I have under my feet the more my foot gets heavier. so I'm going to take a random guess you might pick it up to 25-26 and if you keep your foot on the gas it will be back to where you had it before.

Oh I know exactly what your talking about, I love stomping on it all the time so i can here my V8 sing, but I can also be very conservative and with that being said i can get about 19 right now with no mods!
