To Mod or Not to Mod....
So here I am adding mods to my list of things to do to my 07 screw 4.6 when I read about the new trucks w/ 5.0's having 400/400 ballpark figures..... So I have to ask what you guys think. Is it worth waiting for the kinks to work out on the new trucks after a couple years and purchase a 2013-14 f150...or...go ahead and mod my current truck?
Anyone have an opinion of this? I just can't justify putting money into the truck when i know in a couple years i could have a warrantied one with waaaaay more power and then mod that one.

Man, your call, but remember you have the 4.6 in a screw. You are still going to be well under a 5.4 stock. I know I had the 4.6 screw and while its a great truck the power is just not there, even with the exhaust, CAI, and evo. Good luck.
By the time 2013 rolls around a newly redesigned F150 will be right around the corner. Which by then the current models will more parts available than they do now. Then you may have a completely new body style which won't have as much after-market parts available. Plus you can spend more assuming you will be making payments on a newer truck. If your current one isn't already payed off. You will have it payed off before you pay a newer one off in the next few years. So keep the current one and be able to spend more on it than a brand new vehicle. Unless your rich then, I say go for it.

well gosh...i guess all the stuff out there about the new motors was a little confusing for me. I could have sworn that i've seen a pic of a 5.0 in a truck but i must be crazy. honestly i'm perfectly pleased with the truck now (305/65/17's on stock wheels and levelled out).
making it a little more interesting...what are the odds that later on down the road I could sling a 6.2 into my 07 once they've been around a while? just blueskying ideas here

I haven't stayed very up-to-date on the subject, but I heard that it was going into the F150's. Did they scrap the idea or something?
The sky is the limit man. If you can afford it, you can make it happen.
