Gt500 Supercharger on a 5.4 F150....would it work?

I found a local shop that made 3 GT500s into Supersnakes and is selling their used low miles super chargers for $350 each!!!

Now my question is....can this be put on a 2004 F150 5.4 with much modifications.

If anyone has attempted it, please let me know the end result...I'm curious as to whether its possible not....definitely love the whine on the lightnings lol

So let me know...too bad it won't work with my stang

Can it be done? Yes
Without much modification? No

GT500s are 4 valve motors, ours are 3. A custom intake would have to be made/fabricated, fuel system would have to be upgraded, intercooler/heat exchanger issues would have to be dealt with, and lets not forget the electrical nightmare you would get in to.

You'd have better chances and spend less money to get it to fit your Stang, assuming it's a V8.

While I agree about the intake differences, I don't think there would be any electrical issues whatsoever. Superchargers don't have any electrical components. Basically, a custom intake and a custom ECU tune would put you in business. It would still cost a butt-load though to get those items done. Probably easier/cheaper to just buy the Roush kit.

I wonder what it would cost to have a local machinist fab up the intake parts...a roush kit is what, $4000?

$4000-$350=$3500...leaves quite a bit of cash to play with

If you want the TVS blower set-up, you might want to look into Edelbrock's new supercharger kit. As far as fabing your own intake, good luck with that. Part of that budget will need take care of injectors, heat exchanger, intercooler pump, pulley drive system, tune, just to name some of the major components.

$3500 is not much when it comes to custom stuff. I've seen custom one off intakes sell for $5K.

^ Which is what I was saying, it's probably cheaper/easier to just blow the money on the Roush system than fab up the custom stuff and have it look decent. The fuel pump/injectors/custom dyno tune/intercooler/piping/etc will cost several thousand. It's best just to buy the pre-made sets unless you can do all of the fab/tuning work yourself.

well it does seems to be more expensive then I thought....if anyone is interested I have the Seller's contact info.....he's in NJ...I just wanted a simple bolt on (which I know never is the case so I was expecting to spend some extra) but not that much lol......no kit out yet to fit the v8s but JDM was supposedly designing one.
