305/50-20 on stock 20x8.5

I've pretty much decided on Toyo Open Country A/Ts in this size and will be installing them on the Ford Motorsport 20x8.5 wheel which is identical in offset to the stock 20x8.5 wheel. Those of you with Toyo's or other brands in this size, let me know how well they fit and if you experience any rubbing. An 8.5" rim is the narrowest width Toyo recommends for this tire and wanted to hear impressions from those of you running this combination. Close up pics of tire and wheel (even 305/55s) would help too, or links to them. It's either that size or I'll default to 275/55-20s.

Please note alternate tire's, tire sizes and rims are not the purpose of this post, so save your fingers. I have the wheels and know I want to stick with a non-LT 32" all terrain tire with at least an "S" speed rating.

I have a little different tire and wheel. I have the Roush wheel, but it is 8 1/2 and I have the Toyo Proxie ST II tires and I love the set up. Have about 4500 miles on the tires.

Here is when I bought them:

Yeah, those pics help a lot. The Roush offset is with a 1/4" of Fords but the same width which also what I wanted to see. I had checked out your pics in the link before, but the angles in these pics above are what I was hoping to find. I like the stance of your truck. I have a 4x4, but the front is lifted about an 1" and the rear lowered about an 1".

rms8, have you experienced any rubbing on the control arm on hard turns?

Thanks. I love these tires for a highway tire. Best wet weather traction I have ever had. Better than the Michelin LTX M/S I usually run.

No rubbing unless you turn the wheel all the way to lock, then the sidewall just ever so slightly makes contact with the UCA. I find the only time one would ever really turn the wheels so dramatically is in a very tight parking lot. I have lived with these tires just over a year and aside from the highway noise (an unavoidable evil with AT's) I am 100% pleased with them.

IMHO, the 305/55-20 is the IDEAL size tire for a leveled 04-08 F150. Anything taller or wider (or worse, both) is too much tire for the height of the truck. It makes the tires look "ballooned" a bit too much.

Factory spec 8.5x20 wheels with the Toyo 305/50/20 tires. No rubbing at all.

I wish I knew for sure. They were part of the "Southern Comfort Conversion" package from the dealer, and they tore the build sheet off the window when they prepped the truck for my taking it home. I thought I had it in the envelope they gave me with the original window sticker, but it wasn't there.

Can't see a lot of it but sort of remind me of these Foose wheels. Wonder if they could be another Foose wheel?

Actually, they sort of look like these Boss Motorsport wheels, but it's hard to tell from the angle.

The offset on these wheels are pretty close to Fords.
