new truck reasearch which trims have...

on the 04-08 which trims come with the center console shift? i know the KR's and lariats but what others do?

same for 09+ if anyone knows

as many times as ive posted it, i for sure am gonna trade the ole' stx off in about 8 months for something new (or new to me) and this is pretty much where all the research begins, starting with the interior on out, based on interiors im looking at

07+ tundras
titans
09 rams
06-08 f150/marklt
09 f150
hummer h3t

based on motor power and efficiency:
anything BUT a 4.6

thanks

Well the center console shift can be had on pretty much any trim level F150, maybe not the STX. In any case, 99% of the time the center console shift if standard with the captains chairs option, which comes standard in Lariat, KR, and probably the FX4/FX2 versions. The XLT's have a good number of them with captains chairs, so you would likely be able to find one there, too.

My XLT has the column shifter, but only because I searched it out. I've seen FX2, FX4, Lariat, KR, Harley Davidsons with the flow-thru shifter, but I've also seen FX4s with column shifters. If you're going to dealerships, you'd have to look inside the individual truck.

ah i see, ive never seen an xlt with one.... so from xlt-fx4 its optional, and lariat on up its standard

what about the lincolns?... do they even have trim levels?

The flow thru console w/shifter was never available on XL, STX, XLT. It is optional in the FX4, but 95% of them have it, same with the LARIAT because I have seen lariats w/column shift. The FX2's, Harleys, King Ranches, Limiteds, and Mark LT's all got it as standard.

If you plan on upgrading to a factory leather shift handle out of a mark LT,

do yourself a favor and look at 07-up 150's. The 04-06 150's used a different shift tower than the mark LT's did. In 07 ford wised up and put the same unit in both trucks, so an 07-later 150 the mark LT handle is a simple bolt in (one screw under the button). The handle can be used on an 04-06, but needs to be modified to fit.
