Window switch problem??
Window switch problem??
Hello guys, i have a problem with my driver side switch. A while back the driver window would go down easy and would hesitate to go up. I removed it and did the cleaning and it worked well for a day or two. Now, it don't go up or down, I'm afraid it might be and electrical problem. I'm going to buy the switch but can there be another problem, or is it the switch itself?
thanks guys

It is the switch itself. I replaced mine last year. Dealer sells them for $48. There is a plastic nipple under the switch which presses the contact. They wear out pretty quickly. Usually the driver's side wears out first, since you roll it up and down the most.
I need to do the same thing. How does the switch come out? Do you just pop it out with a small flat head screwdriver or something?

save yourself the money and pop the switch out remove it from the coverplate and clean the contacts with a small piece of sand paper put it back together and your good to go ... when i priced it out the master switch was 115 buck.
Simply pry off (some even come off by hand) the small cover that surrounds the switches (Picture 1) from the seat side where it meets the armrest (there are 2 clips holding it down, one toward the rear and front of the cover so you may want to work from back to front), remove the cluster by carefully loosening the clips and connectors holding in the switch (Picture 3, pointed out). Don't worry about the power mirror button being an issue because it is attached to the cover unlike the power window buttons as it has enough slack. Replace the switch if necessary (local scrapyard may have one you can get for $10-$20 or carquest is about $40-$50) or like blang said $48 at his dealer but mine wanted $67. Should only take you 5 minutes and save you a few asprins
Does your driver window switch "click" slightly like the passenger window button when depressed on the same cluster? If not, switch is probably bad, if it does, maybe try pipefighters method.

I just had to replace the master switch at 62K. After looking at the prices on here I was quite surprised to see that the dealer I went to stocked lots of them and sold them for $5.
